Every summer, we'd pack up for a weekend or sometimes a week long camping trip. If it wasn't a family trip, it was girl scouts, boy scouts or adventure scouts. Some or all of my family was always gone during the summer. Being a single mom and a photographer, I don't always get to go on adventures with my kids. Juggling schedules can be a bit hectic. But over the weekend, my family decided we'd squeeze in one camping trip this summer. So Friday afternoon, I set out with three dogs, two kids and my Subaru to meet up with my parents in Chehalis.
The Thousand Trails Campground in Chehalis has always been a family favorite. I could fill this page with stories from my youth (My Lawd I feel old saying that) but I won't. Instead, I'll tell you this: We stayed in the RV for the most part, but took the dogs out for a few runs in the fields. It rained most of the time so we watched movies, snuggled and headed to the park between rain showers. It was probably the wettest camping trip I've been on since high school, but it was worth every cold soggy minute.
