Second Shooter Files | Allen + Jayme with Captured by Katie Photography

Sometimes you need a partner.

And sometimes, that partner has lived down the street for years without you having any idea they were there. Katie, the owner of Captured by Katie Photography, happens to be that partner for me. We came across each other completely by chance, through the House of Flynn Taco Tribe group. I was in need of a second shooter for Angel + Shanti's Viking Wedding, and Katie stepped up to the plate. Little did either of us know, our paths had been super close to crossing for years, but they just hadn't.

During our pre-wedding meeting, she mentioned the need for a second shooter for her cousin's wedding a few weeks out. I was more than excited to work with her again, since we got along great as friends in addition to associates.

Second shooting is way different.

I loved getting to second shoot, but the lack of "stress" I thought I would feel, wasn't lacking at all. I was still in full photographer mode. Even though Jayme and Allen had never met me before, they accepted me right away as Katie's Associate Photographer. Watching these two in love was absolutely thrilling. Even without knowing their story, you can tell they've been through a lot together. Getting married on their 2nd anniversary was the perfect start to their new lives as husband and wife. Jayme & Allen, I wish you all the best! Congratulations on your marriage. Cherish and adore one another for the rest of your lives, just like you already do today. Much love, Markie.

I love to second shoot from time to time. I love being able to take a step back and have a different perspective than the lead photographer. Great job capturing these beautiful and fun images!

I love the teal accents and the cake topper from this wedding - so adorable! It's true that even as a 2nd photographer or associate, you can still tend to be in "full photographer mode". You did a beautiful job capturing these images as a Bonney Lake wedding photographer!
