It was her senior year of high school, and I had yet to start my business. Her dad insisted on paying me, which I turned down saying I didn't have the proper experience. He paid me anyway, in the form of an Applebee's gift card, which I used to take my small family on a dinner date (Thank you Brad). He believed in me and my work even back then.
Since that very first session, Summer has returned to me at least once a year for photos. She's helped me out when I needed to test new equipment, drags Michael along with her when I needed a man to add to my portfolio and brings her best friend, Ashley, out for photos of the two of them that don't include random street side selfies. She'd mentioned in passing during a random outing, that she would love for me to photograph her wedding in the future, whenever that ended up coming to pass. Of course, I was more than happy to oblige her.
So when I saw her announce she and Michael had gotten engaged, I was thrilled for them! I also knew it meant I needed to really do something different this time. So late the other night, I selected images, clipped and spliced video and came up with a love story slideshow.
What I really can't wait for though, is their wedding. These two are such a blast to photograph, laughing and talking and making the most of our short time together. She's going to be stunning in whatever she chooses to wear and I'm thrilled to be joining them as their photographer as they take vows and join together as husband and wife.
